Social Security Division
The social security Division is responsible to receive claims and process applications for Social Aid, Social Register of Mauritius, Basic Benefits, National Savings Fund and deal with complaints regarding Elderly abuse.
Objectives
The objectives is to insure that all schemes, programs and assistances initiated by the central government are applied to Rodrigues and as their counterparts in Mauritius , all Rodriguan benefit from the poverty alleviation initiatives and are embarked on the National effort to empower and redistribute wealth.


Services
The Division is responsible for the provision of a range of services under the following schemes/programmes:

- Non-contributory Pensions
- Contributory Pensions
- Industrial Injuries Allowances
- National Savings Fund
- Application for Payment of Lump Sum
- Social Assistance in kind and in cash
- Unemployment Hardship Relief
- Empowerment, welfare, protection and well-being of the Elderly
- Empowerment and welfare of Persons with Disabilities
- Managing of emergency centres sheltering evacuees on the occurrence of natural disasters like cyclone, flood, etc.

Basic Retirement Pension (BRP)

Basic Invalids Pension
- Birth Certificates of Claimant and Dependent Children

Basic Widows Pension

- An affidavit establishing the heirs of the deceased (where an employee dies before reaching retirement age)
